Melt
Alyssa Luppens

The trees around me looked like they had been dipped in a coating of silver.
All the happiness is gone and the angels are falling out of heaven.
These surroundings have changed since I sacrificed my love to you.
Only the thought of holding you is like a picture frozen permanently in my head.
I have to melt in my dreams because I can’t melt in your arms, and the thought of never seeing you again is like never meeting you at all. I wouldn’t be able to go on with my life knowing you weren’t in it.
I try and try to get over you but the memories of you float back to my head.
I’ve finally lost grip of what I thought was true and forevermore, I am deceased…
