My Dark Place
Alyssa Luppens

The demons that have summoned me make me have this strange tension I’ve never discovered.
Insulting me, bouncing inside my head like ricocheting bullets.
I know I will meet my fate,
Somewhere among the clouds above,
There is a place for me.
In balance of this life in which to be mine, there is death.
The sincere words of mine struck me like an arrow through my heart.
And from the walls of rock and from the dipping covert, come black, dark forms of loss which soothe and temper.
The dark seed of guilt is now floating up before me…
