Red Roses

Red roses sail away on a sea of despair
Like a lost balloon gliding away into dreary night air
One by one they dissolve, slowly slipping away like soap
Into an endless sea of lost hope
Will there be a rose for me
Or will my vision, my knowledge set me free
Let us believe on this earth all faith is not shed
That it is not a sodden homeless man living for his desperate dreams
But it is a young child living to learn and let loose his fears
A light in a fading sea of red
