Sun Risings
The sun rose at 2 p.m.
And ‘til then I was in darkness.
It’s strange, isn’t it?
For the sun to rise so late
That I had to fight so hard,
Sacrifice so much,
Yearn and love so truly
To live fully in the sun
Only a mere few hours
Before it set again
And I fought hard for it
Once more, and more again
Hoping, praying that this time
It would rise… at least
A little bit earlier than 2 p.m.
